Mercari plus Uber = Mercari Local Delivery

Mercari plus Uber = Mercari Local Delivery

Craigslist has been great… but hello Mercari Local Delivery!

I’ve shared a few ways to make money online. One of the ways was through reselling items you have around the house or collecting dust in the closet.  I have been reselling on Poshmark and some times Craiglist for a while now, and in 2020, I started using is Mercari.  Mercari is a an app/website where you can sell anything from toys to clothing and accessories, and even furniture. It’s pretty easy to get set up and start your reselling business within minutes. Just make sure you have great pictures, pricing , and descriptions of your items.

In the past , you could only ship your sold items through via USPS,  UPS, or FedEx, but Mercari has partnered with Uber to provide local delivery.  Here are the reasons why this is a good thing:

  1. After your item sells,  an Uber  driver will pick up and drop off your item, contact-free. You will never have to share your address with the  buyer
  2. You get to pick the time that works for you, which ensures that your item gets picked up and dropped off on your time.
  3.  All of the transactions are taken care of within the Mercari app….so no need to exchange cash.
  4. No need to print shipping labels, which saves you time and ink.

So for those of you who use Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace to resell items , you should give Mercari a try. It’s a lot safer to use their local delivery option , than to deal with the scheduling meet up spots, cash exchanges , and awkward exchanges with strangers.

It’s time for Comedian Lance to take the next step..

It’s time for Comedian Lance to take the next step..

Last time I spoke with you all, I had just created a new site for Comedian Lance Thompson. Since then, he has booked more shows and he’snow ready to start selling t-shirts and DVD’s both in person and on his website. So what’s the solution? Should he build a new site? Sign up with Shopify or another E-commerce platform, or should he build on the site that we already created?

We decided that the best solution is to extend the site that he already has. In order to sell products on his site, we must add a shopping cart and connect it to a payment processor. We will also give people the option to download a digital version of the DVD or have a hard copy shipped directly to them. It sounds like a lot of work, but wit the help of WordPress, Woocommerce and Paypal/Stripe or Square, we can make it happen.

The look of his site won’t change much. We will add a shop section that will include a picture and description of the product and an add to cart button.  The customer will purchase their product and receive a receipt. Easy peasy….

Stay tuned for the end results. In the meantime, comment below and let me know your thoughts on the chosen solution.

What is E-commerce?

What is E-commerce?

What is E-commerce?

E-commerce is defined as commercial transactions conducted electronically on the Internet. Let’s simplify that. E-commerce simply means selling a product or products via the internet.

No matter what type of business you have, you can add e-commerce to your business plan. If you have an offline business, you can start selling your products and services online. If you have a service-based business, you can sell digital products or physical products.

E-commerce businesses can be modeled in four ways:

Business to Business (B2B) – Your business sells to other businesses
Ex. manufacturers and wholesalers.

Business to Consumer (B2C)– Your Business sells to directly to a consumer
Ex. One of the most popular examples is Amazon

Consumer to Consumer (C2C) – Consumers sell to other customers.
No company is involved. Ex. eBay

Consumer to Business(C2B)– Consumers sell to businesses
Ex. Upwork or Fiverr
If you are a blogger, you could sell physical products that include your brand name or logo. If you are an artist , you can sell your artwork. Maybe you’re in the beauty industry, you can sell the products that you use via your website, or you can sell courses on how to create a particular look or style.

Starting an e-commerce business doesn’t have to be difficult. Considering getting into the world of E-commerce, Here are a few questions to help get your mental juices flowing:

1. What products or services are you going to sell?
2. Who is my target market? Who will buy your product or service?
3. Where will you sell? Will you use a third party or sell on your own site?
4. Do you have a business name?
5. Have you purchased a domain or hosting?
6. How will people pay for your products?

Before you dive into any e-commerce venture, so a little research and inventory. Take stock of the products that you currently offer offline and figure out if there is a way to sell them online. Research other entrepreneurs or business owners that offer similar products or services.

Make money during the shutdown completing software reviews

Make money during the shutdown completing software reviews

The shutdown is still in full effect. Last week I shared a post on how to make money during shutdown with PoshMark. Today I want to share a  quick and simple solution that has helped me earn extra money every month.

A few months ago, a good friend referred me to Capterra. It’s a site where I can earn extra money writing quick reviews on software that I use every day. I can’t lie, I was a little skeptical at first, but I figured it was worth a try. BTW, this links in this post are my referral links.

Here are the steps you should follow:

  1. Head over to the Capterra site.
  2. Choose software that you currently use or you’ve before.
  3. Complete the review and submit. For every software review, you write, you could earn money for each review.
  4. Once Capterra reviews your review and approves it, they will send you a payout for every review via gift card. Your choices are Visa, Amazon, Starbucks, or Apple Itunes. You could also donate your earnings. You are allowed to write up to 10 reviews per month.

That’s it 🙂

So far I’ve written reviews for Quickbooks, Trello, LastPass, and few others. Writing a review is easy if you’ve used the software often. I’ve used my earnings to make purchases while on bedrest. I purchase my bedrest necessities from Amazon,  to order and I use it to order food via GrubHub or Ubereats via the Visa gift card option. Last month I made an extra $100 dollars. It’s not enough to pay the rent, but really came in handy when I needed it.

I hope this helps bring extra money to your household this month. Every penny counts. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need some help coming up with strategies to bring in extra income.
